Power BI Desktop for PC/Windows (Power BI is currently unavailable for Mac)
Experience with Power Query, Power Pivot & DAX is a plus, but not required
No advance preparation is required (we'll walk through set-up and install)

Identify basic Power BI functionality, including data sources, contextual menus, regional settings, and differences between Power BI Desktop & Service
Identify common Power Query tools and use cases for adding and transforming columns, including grouping, merging, appending, and transforming text and dates
Identify common data modeling tools and best practices, including table names, relationships, hierarchies, data categories, cardinality, and filter flow
Identify examples of filter context and various filtering methods, including user roles, parameters, and drillthrough filters
Identify DAX syntax, when to use common functions, performance implications, and differences between measures and calculated columns
Identify and interpret key Power BI visuals, including configuration options, interaction modes, and common use cases
Identify common optimization techniques, including pausing visuals, applying presets, analyzing performance, and leveraging external tools
